Pastor Todd Barton has been the youth pastor of Arlington Baptist Church since the summer of 2004. He was raised in a Christian home in Oak Lawn, Il, where going to church and pleasing God was expected and taught. Although he had such strong Christian heritage growing up Christ never became personal to him just part of a religious practice. However, because of God’s grace and persistence, at the end of his senior year of high school he recognized his need for a personal relationship with Christ that was unattainable apart from Christ’s death on the cross. On May 19, 1992, he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior.
Pastor Todd believed the Lord was calling him to youth ministry so he went to study at Northland Baptist Bible College in Dunbar, WI. In 1996, he graduated from there with a bachelor degree in youth ministries. Following graduation that summer he married his high school sweetheart, Wendy Sparks, and moved to Lansdale, PA, to attend Calvary Baptist Theological Seminary. In May of 2001, he received his Master
of Divinity degree, and following graduation that year he began ministering at Highland Baptist Church in Parkesburg, PA, as the associate pastor. While ministering there for three years, God made it clear to him that youth ministries was were God wanted him to use his talents. God then opened the door for him to be the youth pastor in the spring of 2004. The Barton’s received the call for the youth pastorate at Arlington Baptist later that June.
The Barton’s have three children, Kaleen (2000), Janel (2003) and
Garrett (2005), and reside in the Windsor Mill area.
